I have been fortunate enough to travel all over the world with my family and my clients, including Europe, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Dubai, Fiji, Turks & Caicos, Bahamas, St. Thomas, St. Marten, Puerto Rica, Jamaica, Cuba, Mexico, and all over North America.

 

My specialities are River Cruises, Group Travel, Women’s Escorted Tours and Destination Weddings.

My favourite form of travel is River Cruising and the experience and relaxation it gives people.  With that comes Groups whether is be a family group, and escorted group I host or in the form of a Destination Wedding where I’m able to help a Bride and Groom plan their Destination Wedding and book all the guests to join them on their special day.

My love for travel started when I was 15 years old, when I travelled alone to Singapore to go visit a friend! After high school I went backpacking in Australia with friends, and thats when it really hit me that I needed a career in Travel. I graduated with a certificate in Travel and Tourism from SAIT in 2006 and immediately started working for Vulcan Vacations.

 

My true love is the beach and I have been to over 40 different all-inclusive resorts across Mexico and the Caribbean, as well as Disneyland and DisneyWorld with my family! Destination Weddings and large Friend & Family groups are my specialty!

I began working for Vulcan Vacations in the summer of 2011 after spending 9 years as a learning assistant for our local school division. I have always loved traveling and exploring new places, especially those that included the ocean and I thought that I would really enjoy helping others plan and make special memories with their loved ones, so making the decision to join Vulcan Vacations was an easy one!

 

I have been very fortunate to have travelled to many places over my life starting when I was only 8. Disneyland was my first trip, and Disney Parks are still some of my favorite places to spend time with family. Some of the other destinations that I have been lucky enough to see include Belize, Honduras, St. Maarten, Cozumel, St. Thomas, Grand Cayman Islands, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Great Exuma, 4 of the Hawaiian Islands and various parts of Mexico.

 

Since starting with Vulcan Vacations, I have planned many trips for couples, families and also a large group for a destination wedding. I graduated from the Career College with a diploma in Travel and Tourism in 1992. I worked briefly in the office for Vulcan Travel and then due to relocation, I became an outside sales representative in the fall of that same year. I have worked out of my home for Vulcan Travel/Vacations ever since.

 

I have travelled extensively throughout the South Pacific, Mexico, and the United States.

Now is the best time to take advantage of the day and experience something new. This is why I work as a travel professional. I love to help people realize their dreams, and take chances on the vacations that they never thought were possible.

My career in travel evolved from a personal love of exploring. After planning all of my own vacations for my family as well as for family members and friends, I knew that this was the career route for me.

​

Many of my clients have spent most of their lives in North America and are eager to see more of the world. Canada is an absolutely gorgeous country, but I believe that it is important for people to travel, experience different destinations and cultures to broaden their horizons and enrich their lives. This could mean an escorted tour in Asia, an expedition trip to Antarctica or a relaxing river cruise in Europe.

I have been involved in travel for a few years. I worked at WestJet in the reservations for 4 years. When I left, I began taking all the courses I needed to become an Esthetician. I have been working at that for 2 years and decided to work out of my home as well as sell Travel.

 

With my experience at WestJet I have gained the knowledge for selling and booking great travel experiences. I love to travel and I look forward to helping others plan their dream vacations.

After planning and organizing holiday travel for ourselves, family and friends for the past 25 years, I feel now is the time to use my passion for travel to help clients and customers plan their next vacation as a travel advisor.
 

Growing up my family traveled to the Okanagan for several weeks each summer, and this instilled a love for adventure and exploring at an early age. After we visited the Oregon coast when I was a teen, my love for the ocean began. My true love is the beach and ocean waves, whether it is in the USA, Mexico,
Jamaica, or the UK.
 

We have vacationed 19 times at all inclusive resorts in Jamaica and Mexico. In Jamaica we have been to Negril, Runaway Bay, Ocho Rios and Braco. In Mexico we have visited Cozumel, Mayan Riviera, Huatulco, Puerto Escondido, and Ixtapa. We have travelled extensively through Alberta, BC and through the USA
by car and on our Harley Davidson, as well as several cities and states by plane. We have also visited England and Scotland.

Since completing her travel course with honours in Los Angeles, Arla has travelled both on and off the beaten path by rail, coach, ship and plane. She went on to teach Travel and Tourism courses after experiencing the power of travel. Today she continues to develop tours and customize tours for individuals and group.

She believes confidence and enrichment are available to each of us when we travel, interacting with other people and their cultures in their countries.
